APR Energy Commissions 10MW Plant for Guatemala Cement Facility

APR Energy, a global leader in fast-track power solutions, announces today that it has successfully commissioned a 10-megawatt power plant that will provide required generating capacity for Cementos Progreso’s new San Gabriel cement plant near Guatemala City, Guatemala.

“We are pleased that Cementos Progreso, one of the largest cement companies in Central America, has selected us to provide the power needed to run its new plant while a transmission line is constructed to connect the facility to the electric grid,” said APR Energy Chairman John Campion.

“Bridging power solutions such as this can be a tremendous benefit to industrial customers that are waiting on construction of a permanent on-site power facility or a connection to the grid. By providing them with reliable power in weeks rather than years with our mobile plants, industrial production and revenue generation can begin sooner,” Campion said.

“After more than 100 years of supporting the construction industry in Guatemala, Cementos Progreso initiated the largest project of its history: the construction of the third cement manufacturing plant in our country. We are very pleased to have chosen APR Energy for its innovative solutions as the company to lead this important milestone and to help make this dream come true at the San Gabriel plant in 2017,” said Luis Pinto, San Gabriel plant manager.

The power plant adds to APR Energy’s list of projects for energy-intensive industries such as mining, chemical manufacturing and cement production. The project is the company’s second power plant in Guatemala.
