Flexible Power Solutions

When it comes to flexibility, APR Energy stands in a class of its own.

The operational versatility and diversity of our technology leads our industry, while the scale and scope of our power agreements provide customers with customizable options to fit their needs. Each flexible power solution is designed to match your unique operating or site requirements, including capacity, site, fuel type, voltage, emissions, technology preference and more. Each contract is individually structured to be balanced and meet with your financial, commercial and operational expectations.

Flexible Operation

Our fleet of GE TM2500 mobile gas turbines enables customers to switch seamlessly between natural gas and diesel, as well as use alternative fuels such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), kerosene and naphtha. This versatility gives customers the ability to use the fuel that is cheapest for them and alternate between fuels as prices or availability changes. Also, our plants are designed to match customer specific interconnection requirements, can function in island or grid modes, and provide a wide range of grid stabilization benefits.

Diverse generation fleet

A key component of our flexible solutions offering is our diverse portfolio of state-of-the-art generation equipment, which includes mobile gas turbines, gas and diesel. A key component of our flexible solutions offering is our diverse portfolio of state-of-the-art generation equipment, which includes mobile gas turbines, gas and diesel gensets, and solar hybrid solutions. For longer-term generation, we can deploy a fast-track power bridging solution and work with partners to deliver permanent combined cycle, HFO and solar PV generation offerings, providing an optimal balance of speed and cost per kilowatt-hour.

Flexible Power Agreements

APR Energy’s contracts are flexible by scale, term, scope of services, and more. The scalability of our solutions allows customers to select from generating capacity ranging from a few megawatts to over half a gigawatt. Our agreements for interim power typically range from six months to 3-5 years or more, and can be structured as a power-rental or power purchase agreement (PPA). Longer-term solutions can be provided via PPA, BOOT (build, own, operate, transfer) and bridge-to-permanent contracts. We also offer creative financial packages, avoiding lengthy financial closure, accelerating the development of permanent plants, and incorporating long-term fuel supply to ultimately provide more predictable power pricing to our customers.
