Tuesday, May 3, 2011

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA APR Energy LLC, a leading provider of major turnkey temporary power generation services, today announced that it has been awarded a 10 MW contract by Vale, the second largest commercial mining company in the world. This power solution will provide power to Vale’s Moatize Coal Project in Moatize, Mozambique. Under the terms of the contract, APR Energy will be responsible for all turnkey mobilization, installation and commissioning of the site, working in conjunction with Vale. The Moatize Coal site will utilize APR Energy’s diesel-powered modular generation units, which will have the flexibility to run independently or synchronized with Mozambique’s national utility grid. “This award represents an important step for APR Energy’s growth and our expanding presence in the commercial mining sector,” said John Campion, APR Energy’s Founder and CEO. “This contract shows how well APR Energy’s power solutions can meet the specific needs of the mining and industrial sector. We appreciate Vale’s confidence in us and look forward to building upon our relationship with them and growing our involvement in the commercial mining industry.” In addition to this new Vale project, APR Energy’s industrial experience includes a past project in Borneo, Indonesia, where it installed and maintained a gas turbine facility for one of the largest ammonia processing plants in the world.
